Things On Tuesday
Things That Suck:
- Meetings
- Data conversion
- Work politics
(I could just cut and paste those 3 every time I do a Tuesday Thingers, huh?)
- Wanting a new coffee table, a hi-def TV and new phones ALL RIGHT NOW but the credit card was just paid back down to zero and we don't want to touch it so we have to pace ourselves.
- The bugs that treat me like the salad bar at a buffet when I'm doing yardwork.
- That in spite of our best efforts the tree in my front yard that we tried to save from tree-disease succumbed again, and had to be cut down. I actually cried.
Things That Don't Suck
- Having the credit card paid back down to zero
- Spending a good part of Sunday watching about a dozen butterflies enjoy our flowers:
- That this is the best August weather-wise I can remember in a LONG time. Those who have read my blog drivel for any length of time know that I spend most of August whining about the swamp-ass outdoors. But this year? It hasn't happened. Our forecast for the rest of this week calls for highs in the low 80's. Lovin' it.
- The new bear that lives in my yard, where the little sick tree used to be. We adopted him this weekend:
- The ways changing my diet with Lee are helping me out: I find that I'm sleeping better, want to do more, have a marginally better attitude at work (we can't expect MIRACLES, now) and am losing weight.
- Like Jacolily, I've recently discovered the close-up feature on my camera and am having fun playing with it:
- Football!!!!
- Reconnecting with old college and high school friends on Facebook.
Things I'm Looking Forward To:
- A long weekend coming up. Go Labor Day!
- Possibly going to a historical re-enactment festival as part of the long weekend.

And I hate office politics too... better stay away =)
Great photos! Your flowers are so pretty. Love the bear...so sorry about the tree.
It's amazing how good eating habits affect your whole body & person. Yay for you guys for sticking to it! :-)
Data conversion......just the concept makes me gag, and I don't even do it. I hope you remember to put the right coversheet on your TPS report when you're done with it.
It's always sad when you have to cut down a tree. I don't know why, it just is.
LOL! Every Monday morning, Lee and I quote that movie to each other - the part where Peter is telling Jennifer Aniston about his job and says "I don't like it, so I don't think I'm gonna do it anymore." But we always do! All I need is a red Swingline stapler : ).
(1) Good for you on the credit card & diet!
(2) I cried too, when we had to cut our front-yard tree down due to emerald-ash-borer infestation (2 years ago).
(3) Gorgeous close-up shot of that flower! I KNOW my camera HAS a close-up function, but have not been able to discover it yet, to my immense frustration. Guess I should finally break out the user's manual, huh? (year-and-a-half after purchase)
(4) "Yeah... Go ahead and do that..." :-)
Lee had to explain the close-up function to me, when I wondered how he managed to get such a great picture of a butterfly while in mine the butterflies were all swallowed up by the colors in the flowers and grass! And there's something just so sad about cutting a tree, even when you know it has no chance of thriving. It just hurts. Happy Thursday!
